Kyley on her first day at work

A few days every week, Cara brings Kyley to work with her. It took Kyley just a short time to get used to being at work, but now she sleeps happily on the corner of Cara’s desk as Cara works.
The first day that Kyley came to work, she got specially dressed up for the occasion.

I just wanted to post a correction to the last picture – according to Cara and her Aunt Debbie, the photo of Cara in the snowstorm was actually in San Antonio, Texas, in her grandparent’s backyard. Thanks for the tip, Debbie!

Chris and I are going to Philly for the weekend to visit our friends Julie and Will and their cute kids in their new house. So there won’t be a post again until Monday (sad, I know!) As part of getting ready to leave, I wrote this blog post (on my work-related blog – follow the link) and Cara read it and told me that she was glad that I wrote it because she was about to give me a speech telling me to take a break from work. And that since I “gave myself the speech” it saved her some time.
She also told me that I should pay particular attention to #3 (I think that she was joking, but maybe not!!) You may all agree.
Have a nice weekend!

This week Cara took me and Chris (my husband) out to a special dinner of Jamaican food. It was to celebrate Chris’ birthday (which was in January…nothing like stretching your birthday out for a couple of weeks. Or months!) We went to a great restaurant in Cambridge called Ortanique. The best thing about the restaurant? The owners (who were the friendliest people alive – check out their picture on the website on the “about us” tab), and the Beef Patties, which were scrumptous.
Cara and I both developed a taste for the Jamaican Beef Patty when we were in Bermuda on vacation last year. Yes, it seems weird to fall in love with a Jamaican Patty in Bermuda, but I still haven’t had one as good since.
Actually, all the food at Ortanique was tasty, so if you’re craving Jamaican food (Curried Goat, Ox Tail, Jerk Pork, Fried Plantains), I recommend it. We’ll go back.

I can’t believe that we’ve reached day 10 and I haven’t yet posted about Kyley. Kyley is Cara’s long-hair daschund, the cutest dog in the world. I may be slightly biased, but I love that dog. I will try to post some pictures of her, but Tumblr (which supports Cara’s blog) is a little kooky today so I’m having a hard time posting. If I can’t get them up today, they’ll be up tomorrow.
